Coconut Pudding (Whole) RM9: The pudding was very sweet and milky. Portion wise it’s too huge for a single person, so Kedai Makan Ngee Lee also sells mini portions in cups (RM1.50). Though it feels more enjoyable eating it straight out of the coconut, I felt really stuffed after finishing it alone haha.

Pasar Kim Fung Sandakan Sabah

Pasar Kim Fung in Sandakan is an authentic market with a mixture of fresh produce, fresh seafood, and hawker stalls. It is a market that opens all day long, with different stalls and businesses open in the morning, noon, evening and night.

Since I visited the market at around 3.30pm, some of the popular stalls operating at night were not opened yet. Still, I managed to taste the other crowd favorites that operate during the day, such as the apam balik, chicken wings and dumplings.

Apam Balik @ Pasar Kim Fung

Pasar Kim Fung Apam Balik

Apam Balik (no peanut) RM2: Nice buttery taste and texture, reminded me of Wak Apom Balik in Alor Setar but without the extra ingredients.

Pasar Kim Fung Apam Balik

The apam balik were slightly thinner than usual, with nice spongy texture and filling that was not too sweet.

强记 Kiong Kee Chicken Wing @ Pasar Kim Fung

Pasar Kim Fung Kiong Kee Chicken Wings

Chicken Wing (RM3 per wing): These BBQ chicken wings were delicious. The wings have their own unique style of flavors with sweetish marination, which tasted rather different from the ones I had in West Malaysia.

山东锅贴 Potstickers Dumplings Stall @ Pasar Kim Fung

Pasar Kim Fung Potsticker Fried Dumplings 锅贴

Fried Potsticker Dumplings RM8 for 10 pieces: Decent pan-fried dumplings (锅贴) served hot from the griddle.
