Located in Restoran Loong Fatt 隆发茶餐室 food court, Fatt Kee Herbal Soup 发记炖汤 opens only at night. Their specialties include not only various types of soup, but also a variety of delicious dishes that come in small bowls, so you get to try more different food.
One of the main reasons I was here was for the Pig Brain Soup 猪脑汤 (RM5), because it is rare to find one and I have never tried it (although I wasn’t sure if I am able to actually eat a brain or not). As a result, I didn’t find it difficult for me to enjoy the custardy tofu-like texture of the brain.
Beggar Chicken Soup 竹丝鸡汤 (RM5.50): With a whole leg inside. Their soup in general had plenty of herbs and all were tasty. You can really taste the quality of the soup as they used enough good ingredients to boil them.
Braised Pork Belly 东坡肉 (RM6), Steamed Pork with Preserved Mustard 梅菜扣肉 (RM4.50) & Braised Pork With Yam 芋头扣肉 (RM4.50): Taste amazing and went really well with rice. They were all savory and fatty, a perfect combination to be eaten with plain rice!
Wild Boar Curry 咖喱山猪肉 RM5: The meat wasn’t too tough and there wasn’t any gamey smell. The curry was very nice especially with rice.
