Warung Pak Mat Pulau Pisang | The Origin of Teh Tarik Madu – Kelantan

Warung Pak Mat Pulau Pisang Teh Tarik Madu

At Warung Pak Mat Pulau Pisang, you can’t leave without trying their original Teh Ais Madu / Teh Tarik Madu (Iced Honey Pulled Tea), a superb drink to have on a hot day. It has a very rich flavor of tea, honey, and condensed milk. It’s like teh tarik but with honey, and has much more foam than the average teh tarik.

Warung Pak Mat Pulau Pisang is also famous for their Sup Kepala Ikan (Fish Head Soup) and Sup Gearbox (Beef Bone Soup). I ordered the Sup Gearbox, the soup was super hot & spicy, lots of herbs, plus loads of chillies. I expected the ‘gearbox’ bone (the big bone with marrow inside, cut in half and looks like a car’s gear shift), but I received something more like a mixed beef soup. Nevertheless, it was great because the soup had meat and tendons that was delicious and soft.
