Auckland is one of the top most expensive city in New Zealand, and eating out can break your wallet even if the food sucks! Fortunately, I discovered Poké House Victoria St West after a series of food-related disappointment, and this Poké Bowl place in Auckland saved my foodie experience in the city.
Hawaiian Tuna Poké Bowl (16.50NZD): At this price, you’ll get loads of fresh tuna chunks and refreshing greens such as edamame, seaweed and salad leaves. The raw tuna was very fresh and the crunchy strips of carrot, cucumber and seaweed did a wholesome impact on the dish’s textures and flavors. The rice’s texture was nice and firm and paired well which everything in the bowl. You can also opt for brown rice.
I also had the Katsu Chicken Poké Bowl (16.50NZD). Awesome cut of fried tender chicken fillet.
Other than that, you have the Subway-style’s add-whatever-you-like for the mix-in, sauces and toppings, after selecting your poké bowl. You can also build your own bowl from scratch (13NZD for 2 proteins; 16NZD for 3 proteins; 3NZD for each extra protein).
