Wimbledon Tavern is a homely historic country bar in the quiet town of Wimbledon, serving cold drinks, awesome food with wholesome atmosphere.
The gentleman serves cold beer from the tap at the bar, and the lady cooks up hearty gourmet meals in the kitchen. It’s also a place where nearby residents gather to have a meal and a drink, so the sense of community is strong here.
I had a mug of draft beer ($7), and a huge hearty meal of Angus Scotch Fillet set ($34), served with eggs, salad and chips. It was a giant slab of perfectly cooked juicy steak, it’s heavenly!
The place also offers accommodation which is a private cabin for travelers. Other than that, the owners allow guests to park their cars or campervans around the premise to sleep in their own vehicle (car camping) and use the toilet facility for free, which I had car camped over there for a night.
