No oyster lovers can pass by the small town of Ceduna, the Oyster Capital Of Australia, without savoring the fresh local oysters. One can easily taste these freshly shucked oyster at Ceduna Oyster Barn, the town’s signature oyster bar.
I had their half dozen original oysters for $15. The sizes were quite small but they were tasty. The oysters are pre-shucked and refrigerated (not alive, or at least not moving when they were served to me) but they were fresh.
Other than oysters, Ceduna Oyster Barn also serves sushi and excellent fish and chips. I ordered one piece of butterfish with chips, tartare and lemon ($14). Both the fish and the chips were nicely done and very crispy. Coated with thick and crunchy batter, the fish was meaty, flaky, and not overcooked.
